Details

The BetterFilter BF900/BF1200 Stainless Steel Top Disc (651) is an original Harmsco filtration-related product identified by manufacturer part number 651. An internal top disc or plate forms part of the upper cartridge-support arrangement. It is different from the exterior pressure-containing filter lid and should not be ordered as a replacement for the housing cover.

Role in the Filter Assembly

When a filter is opened for cartridge cleaning, the upper retaining and positioning pieces are exposed to handling and inspection. An incorrect or damaged plate may prevent the cartridge assembly from returning to its intended position. Replacing the actual worn component can support effective service without purchasing an entire filter.

Harmsco Filtration and Service Considerations

Harmsco BetterFilter equipment is built around serviceable cartridge-filtration assemblies. The manufacturer promotes its upflow approach for limiting trapped air and its reusable filter options for reducing backwash water. Correctly matched internal hardware helps keep the original filtration assembly serviceable rather than replacing the entire unit.

Replacement and Maintenance Guidance

Before ordering, check the diameter, central opening, fastening interface and matching Harmsco assembly drawing. Some BetterFilter models share components, while others use distinct plates despite appearing similar. Verify that seals and retaining hardware are in suitable condition during installation.

Practical Features and Ordering Considerations

Upper assembly support: Works with internal retaining and cartridge-positioning components.
Not the exterior cover: Does not replace the main pressure-vessel lid.
Service access: Inspect during routine element removal and cleaning.
Dimension matching: Disc diameter, holes and seating surfaces must correspond.
Mating hardware: Check the associated rod, nut and seal arrangement.
Model compatibility: Use the illustrated parts breakdown to confirm fit.
