How to Identify Your Spa Control System Circuit Board
This guide explains how to identify your spa control system circuit board by using either the Balboa circuit board part number or, if the original sticker is missing, the primary chipset number on the board.
Over time, the white sticker on a circuit board can crack, loosen, or fall off completely. When that happens, the chipset number can often be used to cross-reference the correct board.
Where to Look on the Circuit Board
Two Ways to Identify the Board
Use the Circuit Board Part Number
If the original sticker is still attached, look for the Balboa part number. It is usually the first set of numbers and often starts with “5.” The number may be five digits long, such as 54115, or five digits followed by a dash and two additional digits, such as 54115-02.
Use the Primary Chipset Number
If the sticker is missing, look at the largest chip on the board. The top set of numbers is usually the primary chipset number. In the example image, the chipset number is LITELDR1A.
What to Do After You Find the Number
Search by Part Number
Use the circuit board part number to search our website. If the part is available, the exact board or related replacement information should appear in the search results.
Search by Chipset Number
If the board sticker is gone, use our Circuit Board Finder and choose the option to locate the circuit board by chipset number.
Consider a Retrofit Kit
If the circuit board is no longer made by Balboa, you may need to replace the entire spa control system. Balboa Value Pack Retrofit Kits are complete replacement solutions for many hot tubs. In some cases, replacing the full control system can be close to the cost of the replacement circuit board and may give the spa a more reliable long-term repair.
