Val-Pak Generic Purex SMBW-20436 Staked 27" Center Rod (73662) is a replacement DE filter component for compatible Pentair or Purex-style diatomaceous earth filter systems. DE grids and grid kits are used inside the filter tank to support the DE coating that captures fine debris from pool water. When grids become torn, crushed, brittle, or heavily fouled, the filter can lose efficiency, return DE to the pool, or develop poor circulation.
