LX WCA100 1.0 HP High-Flow Whirlpool Bath/Spa Pump (WCA100)

The LX WCA100 1.0 HP High-Flow Whirlpool Bath/Spa Pump is an LX whirlpool bath and spa water pump intended to move water through compatible hydrotherapy plumbing. This model is designed for the circulation demands of a jetted bath or appropriate spa application rather than being a universal replacement for every pump with a similar horsepower label. The supplier lists a flow rating of 92 GPM; actual installed flow depends on the plumbing, jets, and hydraulic resistance.

Hydrotherapy Water Movement and Motor Design

In a whirlpool bath, pump selection affects the feel of the jets as well as the operation of the entire water circuit. The pump draws water from the suction plumbing and sends it back through the bathing system’s jet outlets. The published LX product description identifies a copper-wound motor, a capacitor tested for repeated operating cycles, a thermal protector, and bearing construction intended to support smooth running. These are manufacturer/supplier-reported design features, not a guarantee of service life.

The original listing describes a fitting kit supplied with the pump. That can reduce the number of separate connection components needed for a compatible installation, but the existing union style, pipe diameter, and available space still need to be compared before any plumbing is changed.

Selecting a Compatible Bath or Spa Replacement

This model is listed for 110-120V supply and 7A motor current. Check the original nameplate, wiring arrangement, suction and discharge fitting configuration, and equipment-space dimensions. The source mentions familiar whirlpool brands as potential applications, but brand name alone does not establish interchangeability. Match the actual pump assembly and connection geometry.

• Designed to supply pumped water to compatible whirlpool bath or spa hydrotherapy jets rather than replace a small dedicated circulation-only pump.
• Copper-wound motor construction is identified in the supplier description; proper cooling and the correct electrical supply remain essential.
• Thermal protection is described for this LX motor; electrical protection and safe installation must still meet equipment instructions.
• Supplier-listed fitting kit may simplify a matched plumbing installation; verify the actual contents and union geometry before cutting pipe.
• Review suction routing, discharge orientation, system restrictions, and available installation clearance alongside the motor nameplate.
• Flow figures are published ratings rather than guaranteed gallons per minute in every installed bath or spa.

Replacement note: Order manufacturer model WCA100 only after confirming the original pump’s electrical requirements and plumbing arrangement. Do not choose a replacement based on advertised horsepower alone.
